In the summer of 1970, the Vulcan Gas Company closed its doors to be followed a few weeks later by the opening of Armadillo World Headquarters. The South Austin Popular Culture Center will honor these legendary venues with a 40th anniversary exhibition of posters, handbills, photos, and newspaper articles from June 5 - August 28, 2010.

There will be an opening reception beginning at 7:09 P.M. on Saturday, June 5, with shared stories from folks who remember the Vulcan and 'Dillo.
